Change of Details

If a member changes the number of hours they work, or any of their personal details such as their Surname, you must inform Pensions Services, so that we may update the records that we hold for them.

If you return your monthly submission using i-Connect, then these changes are included in your monthly return.

If you do not use i-Connect, you will need to complete and return the Change of Details spreadsheet.

Please submit the Change of Details spreadsheet via Egress Switch to pensions.technical@surreycc.gov.uk

McCloud Judgement

When the LGPS changed from a final salary to a career average pension scheme in 2014, protections for older scheme members were introduced, this is known as the Underpin. Similar protections were provided in other public pension schemes.

The Government has confirmed that changes will be made to all the main public service pension schemes, including the LGPS, to remove the unlawful age discrimination identified in the McCloud ruling.

In the LGPS, the Government is proposing to provide eligible younger members with a protection equal to the protection provided to older members when the Scheme was changed in 2014.

To do this, we need to collect data (for example, hours worked and service breaks) for all members from April 2014 onwards.

After you have submitted your McCloud spreadsheets, you will need to advise Pensions Services of any subsequent changes to your LGPS member's details, using i-Connect or the Change of Details spreadsheet.

For further information, please refer to the LGPS McCloud Guidance.
